Lesson 2: Same – Same but more money

I came past this very interesting image that explained how something of the exact same content can be made into something much more valuable just by doing a little work and making a couple tweaks. I’ve lost some serious sleep over finding the exact one, but the words were:

“A bar of iron costs $5, made into horseshoes its worth is $12, made into needles its worth is $3500, made into balance springs for watches, its worth is $300,000. Your own value is determined also by what you are able to make of yourself.”

more money

Although this was meant for the purpose of motivating others, I took a very literal understanding of this little quote that both inspired but also educated me on mindset.

Same iron bar. Extremely different value. Why? Because of 1) Perception and mindset. 2) The difference made in a little bit of effort (changing and moulding the iron).

The first thing that hit me after this was: Time. 24hrs. We all have 24hrs but how can we apply the same concept and maximise value? What is the opportunity we may be missing out? The answer comes of those above two points.

And of course the next came to digital marketing. Since we deal with a lot of businesses looking to get into the digital marketing scene, I’ve seen similar businesses use the same exact platform (ie. Facebook Ads and Google Ads) but reap wildly different results. Needless to say again, as I’m sure we both know the difference.

With this in mind, I had a great idea to kick start my series in partnership with Intentree: The Facebook Ads LEGACY! Where my first part of the series is based on the same concept (same-same but different).

How do we use the same concept, the same platform utilise the same time but have a better educated mindset and put in a little effort in order to maximise business output and productivity? What is the difference in mindset between the regular businesses managing their digital marketing and businesses that x10 those numbers?

You may be surprised when you find out that it isn’t necessarily an issue of budget. Come with me and let’s explore this mindset upgrade together.
